Kate Bolick at doubleX has written an excellent analysis of the production design work that goes into Mad Men and Sunday's episode in particular, slapping back critics who've argued that the show is a case of style over substance. For Bolick, the style is the substance, and she argues her case brilliantly. Highly recommended reading for anyone who loves Mad Men or art department work in general.
