Please put Twain on my money!

Caught the Dollar ReDe$ign Project via Slate's The Big Money blog, and I particularly loved the entries above from artist Dean Potter.

"We're a culture, not just a government," writes Potter, so why not honor our cultural treasures in our currency? Sounds like a fantastic idea to me.

The goal of the Project is to "rebrand the US Dollar, rebuild financial confidence and revive our failing economy." Visit the website to checkout the other cool entries from artists all over the country.

  1. Actually, I was just having a conversation with some people a few months ago about our currency. We were saying that Jackson didn't deserve to be on the 20, so if we could replace him with anyone, who would it be? And Mark Twain was one of the names we kicked around, along with JFK and Neil Armstrong. We all eventually came to different individual conclusions, but my personal choice if I was in charge would be to promote Jefferson from the 2 to the 20, and give the 2 to John Adams. It would make sense to have Washington on the 1 and Adams on the 2, and the guy fucking deserves it. John Adams always gets the shaft.
